Using LIKE & AS in English, differences between like and as, how can use like and as;
LIKE
Like is used to say what something or someone looks / is like.
Like, as a preposition, is used;
–> Before a noun or pronoun,
–> to say that two things are similar.
Examples;
- George’s sister looks like Megan Fox.
- The meat smells like fish.
- I look like my father.
- Mary works like a slave.
- It was a small animal like a Mouse.
- The girl runs like a rabbit.
AS
As is used to describe someone’s job / role.
As, as a preposition, is used;
–> Before a noun or pronoun,
–> to refer to jobs or functions.
Examples;
- As your mother, I am proud of you.
- She reached as a dentist should.
- Michael used his shoe as a hummer.
- My sister works as an engineer.
- As a parent, please let me tell you…
- As you know I read many books.
- We use soft papers as toilet papers.
